Help me give my students a personalized sound experience. Right now students have to bring their own head phones, and most of these don't have mics. These head phones would allow students to work on individual assignments.
I teach at a public high school with a very diverse student population. Our kids are willing to work but our state and local governments lack funding. I teach in a computer lab and am looking to help my students understand what it takes to invest in their future, financially, and professionally. We spend time understanding budgeting and understanding retirement investing as well as learning computer applications.
The socio-economic backgrounds of our students vary quite substantially.
Our largest demographic is Hispanic students who make up about 50% of our student population, and we have a mix of well off middle-class kids, as well as kids who live at or below the poverty level. I'd like to provide equal quality to all our kids and funding so they can enjoy their classroom experience. My wife, mother-in-law, and I spent this summer painting my room in our school colors.
As a result, I'd like to provide a friendly warm environment for my kids to learn in and that starts with what they see when they walk into the room and the equipment they use to learn the curriculum.
My Project
Our students work on computers quite a bit and need to be able to focus on individual lessons while simultaneous learning occurs. In some classes we have 25 to 30 students, which can make it difficult or concentrate or hear part of an assignment. We work with quite a few online tutorials and software applications which usually have interactive sound and video programs attached to them. Our kids enjoy this work, but having our own hearing equipment would go a long way to providing a better classroom environment. Thank you for your consideration and support for our kids!
