I teach primary and intermediate elementary school students that have a variety of intellectual, sensory, functional, and social-emotional impairments at a low-income school.
My students are book-loving readers, writers, colorful and creative drawers, and mathematicians.
They spend anywhere from 30 minutes to 3 hours a day with me in a special education setting working on reading, writing, math, communication, social-emotional, and functional skills. We work on building our skills in order to be pushed back into a general education classroom for more time throughout the day. The work that we do in this classroom is confidence, relationship, and skill-building.
My Project
These school supplies will help individual students be able to be successful at completing the assigned projects. Students will be able to focus on the assignment at hand and not worry about not having or trying to locate the correct supplies. The crayon, pencil, and storage boxes will allow each student to keep their supplies separate from their other classmates.
By donating to our project, you will not only increase student engagement and completion, but you will also help keep each student's supplies in a safe place.
These supplies will be essential in the current pandemic situation in which students should not be sharing supplies.
