Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from an area where the majority of the students receive free or reduced lunch based on their socioeconomic status. Despite their hardships, the students are eager to learn and do their best.

I teach resource mathematics which is small group instruction with special needs students.

These students are eager to learn and present their projects. The students love to engage in activities and long to learn but are restricted by the limited access they have to resources. There are many challenges we face in the classroom, having the resources would enhance their learning tremendously.

My Project

In the past, a classroom set of basic fundamental supplies was shared by all students to create fun projects while learning math. During these difficult times with Covid, students are no longer allowed to share supplies. With limited resources, students are not able to have access to basic supplies that would normally be provided because each student would need their own items that could not be shared.

By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student creativity in the resource mathematics classroom, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.

With your help, I would like to create individual supply bins for each student so that we can get the creative juices flowing back into the classroom. Students will be able to create their own posters, study charts and mind maps to help with the learning process.

Each bin will contain the basic supplies needed to create colorful and fun artifacts the students can use to display their knowledge. The process of creating these beautiful posters is a great way to solidify their knowledge.
