Individual Learning Time With the Teacher Makes Everyone Successful!
Help me give my students a table to come have individual time with me and to work with other students who are at their level. A place where we can play games together and try many different strategies.
I have a classroom of 25 students this year who are eager to learn and grow. I have a variety of learning levels in my classroom, so I need to find a way to meet those various levels. I have several students who are reading, to a few students who are still learning how to hold a pencil. In all my 16 years of teaching Kindergarten, I think this is the group that has needed my individual attention more than any other. They all want to sit beside me and hug me and just need that love and guidance from me. I have many students who are being raised by single parents or grandparents, and they need my consistency, motivation, and guidance in their lives. I want to spend individual time with each of them every day. I also have a very young class, so they are coming to me without prior knowledge or experiences.
My Project
Right now, I have a very small rectangular table that only allows me to call back two students at a time. We do not have a lot of space to work on so trying to do games or have individual help from me is almost impossible.
This table will allow me to call several students back and work on different strategies with each one or play games together so each student gets a chance to feel special.
I will be able to successfully call each student back so that they get a little bit of my time and attention every day.
I would also like to begin reading groups with my higher level learners, and this will keep us from having to sit on the floor.
