This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

Due to economic slowdown, class sizes have skyrocketed in my urban school district. The students are placed in classrooms that were never intended to hold 35 students. We are human - Do you remember peaking at a neighbors math exam in middle school? Help take away the temptation for "wandering eye"

I serve in a community that has an unemployment rate that hovers near 40%.

I serve students with disabilities and students that did not meet state standards in mathematics and reading. The students are hard-working and respectful individuals. I strive to provide them with the best education and resources I can afford.

My Project

The privacy partitions will be used during classroom instruction for individualized instruction and during assessments. As an educator, I believe that I am accountable for the learning of my students. The privacy partitions hold my students accountable for their learning and ensures I have an accurate representation of their level of understanding. Based upon their results, I able to provide a different assignment to students seated at the same table without distracting their neighbor. With your help, these privacy partitions will increase student focus, independent thinking, and achievement while taking tests. As a third year teacher, I have found that the best way to increase student learning and achievement is by ensuring assessments provide an accurate picture of student achievement.

The privacy partitions provide me with best option to ensure that I am seeing the achievement of each individual student and providing the appropriate instruction to address their found weaknesses.
