Hi! My students love to learn any chance they can get. My students come from an area of low-income and high need, where their basic needs might not always be met. Although they are not always motivated, I have noticed in my second year of full-time teaching, that they enjoy and are at peace when they can find everything they need to do their work efficiently.
Classroom organization allows my students to find what they need to do their best work and feel independent at the same time.
They find peace in a structured environment that also offers them independence rather than having to always ask an adult where their materials are. By having more organization my students will be able to figure out how to be successful and organized independently.
My students in the past have loved being able to go to the shared shelves and finding what they need because it is labeled but because I only teach math, there are many things that lack their own space which can create frustration and confusion. I am looking to bring the classroom organization up a notch in order to meet the needs of anyone that comes into our classroom.
My Project
These materials, especially the book bins will help my students be ready for class quicker and therefore have more time to focus on their learning. We switch classes in 3rd grade at my school so transition time length is very important. These organizational tools will help shorten the current chaotic transitions we experience everyday.
My students were thrilled with the past project and are super excited about this one.
When they are in their reading class they already have book bins and this level of organization so it is important to also have a fluid transition between classes. Help me help my students organize their supplies!
