My Students
I teach wonderful third graders in a low-income area of Omaha. My students are so deserving and I want them to have all the opportunities to learn in our classroom and virtually during this unique school year. I want to provide them with resources they can use to help lead their learning. My students come to school every day, sometimes not wanting to learn and, yet, they still put their best foot forward and work hard. They are wonderful kids and they deserve the best!
My Project
This year, students have finally returned to the classroom in a hybrid learning model. We are unable to share classroom supplies and that makes learning independently difficult because I am unable to supply certain supplies to each student.
The goal of this project is to provide materials students can use in the classroom to increase engagement.
First, I am requesting a class set of headphones. Students all have an iPad they can use for instruction, but not all students have headphones they can use. I am also asking for cushioned seats for students. Students are unable to sit around the classroom and I want to make their desk seats as comfortable as possible. I am also requesting some markers so that students can be more creative in our day to day lessons by adding art into our days. Finally, I am asking for a whiteboard set for the classroom. The whiteboards that students currently have are flimsy and tearing. I would like them to each have a more durable whiteboard to use at school.
