Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am teaching a group of Pre-K students who may not have the accessibility to technology outside of the school. The excitement they have and the eagerness they come to school with is certainly contagious. Although they come into my classroom at varying levels, the one goal is to help these students learn.
Helping students find success is my top priority, and allowing them to do so in a fun/exciting way is important.
This will get accomplished by allowing time throughout the day for students to complete work, encouraging students to work together and ask questions when needing clarification, and giving them the opportunity to use their creative minds in the learning process.
My Project
By adding an iPad into my collection, it will allow more students to work independently on their letter and number skills.
The students will work on iPads during small group time where they will have the opportunity to work on letters, letter sounds, and number sense.
The iPad will give me the ability to keep track of how the students are doing, and will give me a clear path in how I can support my struggling students.
By using this iPad, it will also teach the students responsibility as they will have to help take care of the iPad when working with it.
