Every morning my students come to class with a bright smile on their face and a cheerful good morning to start off our day. My students are eager to learn and that is the most encouraging part of the day.
As their teacher, I strive to give my students the security that they need when they step foot in my classroom.

My Project
In my first grade classroom, I use a lot of positive reinforcements, rewards, and incentives. Students earn trips to the treasure box for being kind to friends, following directions, and meeting academic goals among other things. In years past, I have only been able to fill my treasure box with toys and trinkets from the dollar store. The students quickly loose interest and are not motivated by the contents. Your generous donation will allow me to purchase quality treasure box items such as bracelets, stamps, and erasers.
When students work for extrinsic motivation and succeed, they become more confident and build self-esteem which will help them become successful in their future.
