"Great teachers engineer learning experiences that put students in the drivers seat and then get out of the way." -Ben Johnson
My Kindergarten students are curious and active children, whose first experiences as learners are shaped by the nature of the classroom environment.
I teach 23 extremely motivated Kindergarten students. They come to me with diverse backgrounds, varying amounts of background knowledge and on different academic levels.
My Project
Imagine studying a picture looking for all the trapezoids in it... after a few minutes of touching all the trapezoids and trying to move on, you realize that there some of the trapezoids are tricks- some are disguised as hands of a person or small wall art. Or, imagine learning the correct letter formation because the iPad will not let you move onto the next letter until you form the letter in the correct way. These are just two different ways an iPad could be utilized in my Kindergarten classroom.
Today's technology has so much to offer students in the classroom.
Having an iPad will make learning fun while also personalizing learning to meet each student's particular need. We hope you will help make a difference in our classroom.
