Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
A is for apple, B is for ball, C is for cat, and D is for DOUGH! Do you remember learning through playing with dough as a child? I want my students to be able to experience the joy of learning their sounds through playing with stamps and dough.
I teach 24 highly motivated kindergarteners and first graders from a high poverty neighborhood.
The majority of my students do not have access to academic or enrichment materials at home. School is usually the only place where they can have access to the materials that will help them learn to read.
My Project
The stamp sets, play dough, and dough stampers will be used in centers and in small group instruction to promote phonemic awareness. My students will be able to stamp out words and build words that they are learning in class. I want to make learning to read fun and what better way to do that than by using stamps?
Your donations to this project will help to provide my students with the materials they need to develop and support phonemic awareness in a fun yet academically rich learning environment.
My students will learn how to read and will succeed with your support.
