My school is made up of a racially, economically, linguistically, and culturally diverse group of middle school students who are passionate about using technology in the classroom and eager to have teachers who integrate technology effectively into their instruction.
Although my school is historically low-performing, the administration, staff, and students are committed to changing perceptions, breaking barriers, fostering growth, and achieving our goals for all our students.

My Project
As the Technology Champion at my school, many technology-related tasks and responsibilities fall on my shoulders, including maintaining approximately 1,000 devices in the building, resolving network issues, diagnosing and resolving audiovisual issues and issues with classroom projectors, providing how-to guides to students, providing professional development for staff, assisting students with daily device and account issues, and much more.
Increasing my skills by mastering key IT fundamentals like those tested on the CompTIA ITF+ exam will help me better support staff and students in my role as Technology Champion.
CompTIA ITF+ is an internationally-recognized certification, and having a certification for it in my teacher toolkit will help me to establish myself as a capable IT problem solver and possibly open the door to district-level IT and projects in the future.
