My Students

I am a Title 1 reading teacher in a rural North Dakota school. I see many students throughout the day with various reading abilities.

Our classroom is always filled with the smiling faces of students who are engaged and ready to learn.

Even though reading is difficult for them they are determined and never give up.

I was a struggling reader in elementary school and I just want to help them succeed! With the right materials they can go anywhere!

My Project

STEM education creates critical thinkers and enables the next generation of innovators. Students will benefit from the creativity and using all parts of the brain to learn.

Every child learns differently and by donating to our project you will help students learn to read with hands on literacy activities.

On Friday's we have "Fun Friday" where we take a break from our structured reading interventions and do fun literacy activities. This year I want to incorporate various phonics STEM activities and in order to do so we need these manipulatives. For example, students will have to read the word cat and use one of the manipulatives to build a cat.
