My Students

I currently have twenty one energized students. My students are creative, full of energy, and love to ask questions. They come to school each day with a positive mentality. We strive on having a growth mindset.

Many of my students don't complete work outside of school due to the lack of supplies at home.

We are a Title I school where 92% of our students receive free or reduced lunches.

We are also an English as a Second Language School where seven of my students only speak a different language at school. This means that school is very important for them to get the English language exposure.

My Project

Flexible seating lets students take control of their education. Students are allowed to select seating that allows them to do their best work.

My students are noticeably more engaged when they are allowed to select where they want to sit.

It also decreases disruptions towards other peers.

The idea of sitting on a balance chair versus a traditional student chair is that the instability of an exercise ball will require the student to use their trunk muscles of their body. Also, by getting the balance chair seats my students will benefit by increasing their core strength, improving their posture and decreasing their discomfort.
