Our students are predominately from low-income homes, but here at our school, they have the opportunity to learn coding during their computer science component of their day and even have the opportunity to work in a makerspace each week. Students work on coding every day, build robots, and work with LEGO on a regular basis. They are truly getting prepared to 21st-century jobs.
Our students have the opportunity to take assessments online, complete assignments on Chromebooks, and work to code games.
The makerspace provides our students with experience with other coding devices, puzzles, and the opportunity to create and be innovative.
I love bringing the arts to different areas in our school! Students and staff have gifts in the arts and I need the necessary materials to do this. Our students will utilize the canvases, paint and paint brushes to create projects where their artistic abilities can be showcased. Students will also be able to use the stickers and painter's tape in their creations.
Research says that students are more successful when they are given the opportunity to be creative and be introduced to art in various ways.
Our school could really use these materials! I am super excited already! Thank you!
