Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Help give my amazing students literature that reflects them! Our current classroom library has very few books that represent Black Americans. My 8th graders are voracious readers, and it is important to me that the books in our our library reflect their interests and experiences. Students will be able to access the books in our classroom library during small group rotations during instructional time. My students are also able to check books out weekly to keep with them to read throughout the week. Many of my students do not have ready or safe access to a library, and your donation would give them access to inspiring and representative literature!
