My students come from a small, rural town. Most of them have not been outside of this town. Their school is pre-k through 12th, all together in one building. They are a great group of students. They are eager to learn and explore the world around them. I love to watch their faces light up as they explore something new.
I want my students to have the chance to explore everything that they have not had the opportunity to experience yet.
I want them to have all the experiences of a high tech, big city class. They deserve the best.
My Project
My students will benefit from being able to explore pictures of feelings. This will help to make things that are abstract into concrete for them. Feelings are complicated and we want to help them better understand what they are feeling.
With these items my students will understand to express their feelings rather than push them down.
It will give them the tools to self regulate what is happening around them and to them.
They can take these tools and learn how to solve problems on their own.
They will benefit from the simple to use charts and books by themselves.
