My kindergartners are creating life-long friendships. They are learning to collaborate, build social skills, problem-solve, and develop creativity and discovering who they are as individuals. They are eager to explore the world around them through purposeful play.
The students in my classroom come from a rural community with diverse backgrounds, cultures, and socioeconomic statuses.
Many students are learning English for the first time and rely on school programs for food and clothing.
While students may enter school with limited experiences, when these young learners step into the classroom, I believe they each have unlimited potential and deserve, rich, hands-on learning experiences to help shape their future!
My Project
Play Stix Super Sets, Light Table Tracing Tiles and pocket charts will allow students with autism and other special needs to collaborate and interact with classmates in a positive manner.
Engaging in play and shared learning will foster conversation, acceptance, and friendship for students with differing needs.
Students with autism and communication delays will shine and be successful while building with Play Stix and sharing ideas. Every student wants to be accepted and make friends. These are skills that can be taught and practiced as peers learn to approach peers and ask others to collaborate on building projects. Students will discover that kids that are different than themselves have great ideas and skills.
