Help me give my students incentives for 4th quarter, like sunglasses, smelly stickers, emoji key chains, multicolor pens, scented mechanical pencils, and hand held pencil sharpeners.
We are a school located near Tampa Bay in Florida with a high poverty rate. We serve over 2,000 students. We are a performing arts public charter school. I encourage, teach, and mentor my students through the arts.
Artsy people are unique and beautiful people to be near; they inspire others to do, think about, and become more than they already are.
I teach Earth and space science to 150 middle school students. My students are eclectic and artistic. They are preteens and teens full of ambition and emotions. They are sensitive, smart, sweet, and talented. Many are very humorous, and some are insecure and looking for a safe place to just be themselves.
My Project
These incentives will make a difference in my students' learning by giving them a silly, funny, or needed emotional boost to do their absolute best.
Sometimes students need just a little extra "push" to get them through the day.
They need a little extra kindness and understanding. The day is long, and for many a difficult and exhausting day filled with multiple core academics.... especially the LAST period of the day!
These materials will give them an incentive to focus and engage with our learning. Incentives turn vocabulary dominoes into a competition for 100%. Incentives encourage kids to work as a team, or if all at their table get a correct answer, or write an evidence based response, etc...
I hope that by rewarding students they will feel happy and encouraged and look forward to coming to my class. These materials will enable them to work harder! Please help my sixth graders by contributing to this project. Pencils, pen, sunglasses, silly emoji key chains and pencil sharpeners are just a little something extra to work for and enjoy working hard. My students are preteens doing the best they can.
