Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students
I love my students. They are packed full of personality, passion and purpose. A majority of the students that I service are students who come from homes where they are economically disenfranchised and are unable to purchase supplemental supplies and materials as needed. A large number of the students that I work with recently immigrated into the United States and are extremely shy and withdrawn in the first few years of arrival. Our students are very eager to learn and respond eagerly to instruction/counseling support that is engaging and fun.
My Project
The materials and supplies I am requesting will be placed in our supply closet. Students will have the opportunity to earn the prizes when they demonstrate some of the character traits that we have addressed and reviewed during character education lessons.
I work in a Title 1 school and our students were severely affected by the devastation of Hurricane Harvey.
The truth is that some teenagers respond greatly to physical incentives which is why I am drafting this grant.
We are requesting a Sauder Storage Cabinet to secure all of our items, a lock to secure the cabinet items, an Amazon Basics 6-Sheet Cross-Cut Paper Shredder to shred confidential student information, our kids love emojis so some of the incentives will be Dreampark Emoji Keychain Mini Cute Plush Pillows, LiveEco Emoji Party Favor Bags for Kids, the Fun Puzzle Balls, Puzzle games, Fun Express Emoji Pencils, AirHeads Bars Chewy Fruit Candy, Assorted Colorful Pencils for Kids and the OHill Pack of 64 Pack Emoji Pencil Erasers. The Kleenex tissues will be used by students in the counseling office.
The core values that we are reviewing in our character education program are Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship. When students demonstrate these core values and other taught and practiced skills, throughout the school day they are awarded a prize from the treasure chest. These supplies will give students a variety of prizes to choose from throughout the school year. The students find great joy in earning these prizes!
