This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
As a school counselor, I work with Pre-K - 2nd grade students at my elementary school. A lot of the students that I work with are from low-income family households. My students are fun, energetic, and always willing to learn something new. I enjoy teaching my students and helping them navigate their social/emotional/academic barriers that they are facing each day. When they come into my office, they are always excited to sit down and talk with me. My students work really hard every day to be great students, and I am happy that I can be someone to cheer them on each day!
My Project
I love being able to motivate my students. I am requesting these fun incentives to give to my students who are investing in their education and being good citizens each day that they come to school. These prizes will be awarded to not only my Kindergarten through 2nd grade students, but the 3rd through 5th grade students as well.
Acknowledging positive behavior will in turn motivate other students to want to make good choices and invest in their education.
The prizes will be awarded to students who exhibit P.R.I.D.E.. P.R.I.D.E. stands for positive attitude, respect, invest in your education, determination, and excellence. My hope is that the good choices students make to earn these incentives will turn into a daily habit.
