Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In our school our students are very hard workers and they are very excited to learn every morning when they come to class. We are a very diverse school; at times we will have student that speak at least 2 different languages where English is not their first language. Many of my student's parents will have more then one job so that they can support their family, even though they are not in their child's life as much as they want to, the parents still have high expectations for their own children. Because of their home life they look to us to help their student grow and become successful at life.
In my classroom we are always striving to do better, and better our education.
I tell my students that education is the only thing that can not be taken away from them. With this mind set my students are always trying to better themselves by setting goals to do so. They may have a hard lifestyle at home, but they love coming to school where it is a safe learning place.
My Project
In my class we are always setting goals and the kids love to work for things once they hit those goals. In math they each try to be a king or queen of the many math concepts we go over through out the year. With the crown stickers the kids will be able to track the concepts they have passed off .
With all the other gadgets the kids will be rewarded for finishing an on level book, passing state tests, and the most exciting one passing off their own goals set by them!
I have stressed the kids need to always try and do better. They need to always try and improve their own scores and not worry about what others think or got. I love seeing their excitement on their faces once they hit those goals or beat their previous scores.
