We live and play in a wonderful school district! We have students that come from unique and complex backgrounds, many students at that (500+)! Almost 50% of students in our building qualify for free and price-reduced meals. Our school has an amazing PTO, a wonderful board, supportive parents and top-notch kiddos!

My Project
My students need more options for books that are off the beaten path a bit! They need options to question people that judge others. They need to be exposed to opinions that are different. They need to experience what it might be like to be judged just because you're different.
The books I've chosen include titles like "1984", "Kite Runner", "Out of my Mind", "Bud, Not Buddy", "Maze Runner", "Auggie & Me" and a few more!
Some are older titles, a few are still current. These books will require students to see a perspective other than their own; it will make them question differences and learn about people who think differently than them.
