Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I currently teach Sixth grade in the Bronx. This upcoming school year my students and I will discover the excitement that is William Shakespeare. We will read about the life of Shakespeare and discuss England's history. It is my hope that we can read, discuss and act out some of the plays from Shakespeare. The materials that we will need are 22 Romeo & Juliet (Barron's Shakespeare Made Easy books) and 22 Macbeth (Barron's Shakespeare Made Easy books). This way each student in my class will have a copy to read from. It is my hope that with this experience, my students will become more knowledgeable about William Shakespeare. I believe also that reading and performing will help all my students with their public speaking, while helping my shy students become more involved in their education.
