My Students

My class is a preschool inclusion classroom. It is made up of both special education and general education students ranging from ages 3-5.

'"The biggest risk of NOT including a child with disabilities is that we limit EVERYONE'S potential as human beings" -The Inclusive Class.

In my class, students understand and embrace each others differences. Both my general education and special education students have been able to build a community of learners where every student is included in work and play.

My Project

A carpet with clearly defined spaces will help my students who have difficulties sitting within their own space during circle time. Often times, these students have a difficult time participating in activities and learning with their peers. Having clearly defined boundaries will help my students to understand their own space while being able to focus and participate in classroom activities.

All students should have the opportunity to learn from and alongside their peers.

Inclusion is something I, as a special education teacher, am very passionate about. This project will better support students learning by allowing them to sit, focus, and actively participate with their peers.
