My Students

Help us expand our digital media program! We have doubled the number of students taking video and film production classes. Though we have enough video cameras, we need more media storage!

My students are amazing, resilient kids who are facing the odds in an underfunded inner-city school in Massachusetts.

They are a diverse group of young men and women, sharing the common challenge of growing up poor in an urban city. Many of them work jobs after school to help their families survive. Rarely do they have extra cash for even the most basic of school supplies.

My Project

These 25 SD cards will provide recording access to a full class of digital media students. They will be able to use the card for the duration of the year for all of their class assignments, short films, documentary projects, and public service announcements. The best part? They can be reused every year! My digital media production students produce incredible films and public service announcements that deal with topics such as bullying, history, and community issues. This year we had several student win awards at state competitions and film festivals. Next year, we are doubling the size of the program, but we cannot afford to purchase additional filmmaking equipment, which is going to put a strain on our current resources.

By contributing to this project, you will help us expand our digital media program, and directly influence my students' ability to express their creativity.

Additionally, you will help them have the tools to learn 21st century skills.
