My Students
I work with 4-year-old students. They are just wonderful. They always come to school full of energy and ready to learn.
Some of them are really shy, but when given the opportunity, they show how very smart they are.
The majority of my students qualify for free or reduced lunch so it is not a surprise that many of them have never been exposed to much, making school the greatest thing that has happened to them (best motivation to do my best as a teacher). Colorful, educational materials will be greatly appreciated.
My Project
My students come to me with very poor vocabulary in their first language which makes my job of teaching content and English as a second language more challenging.
My students would benefit greatly if the had access to colorful visual supports to enhance their learning experience.
My students need toner in order to add color to the different didactic materials we use in the classroom. This will allow me to print vocabulary cards, classroom labels and color coded classroom signs in a way that will attract my students' attention. It will also allow me to use the same images I use in Language Arts which I teach in Spanish, in Math. This will facilitate the transferring of concepts from one language to another.
They are little kids that need to be exposed to lots of meaningful, age appropriate and colorful experiences. With your help, this will be possible!
