My students are 13 first grade scholars who attend a high - needs school in Bridgeport, Connecticut. They are very eager to learn anything and everything, especially to read on their own. In this technology age we currently live in, much of our daily work as adults is completed digitally. The same goes for my first grade scholars. They are so efficient while using technology but unfortunately my high-needs district does not have the means to fix all the issues that technology can bring.
My Project
My hope is to be able to fix the issues with chrome books in my classroom that my students currently problem solve through daily. This is important not only for the quality of their daily classwork but they need working technology to take digital tests that assess what they have mastered in school. Currently, students are struggling to successfully drag and drop or even click in a precise place because of broken track pad’s on their chrome books. This is problematic especially when taking digital assessments. Students are using too much of their time trying to be positive they will click the correct choice or having to redo the same drag and drop multiple times. Students are also becoming overly anxious because they know if the chrome book malfunctions it will affect their score. My goal with this project is to help alleviate this issue so kids can focus on the learning taking place instead of the distraction and inconvenience of a malfunctioning chrome book.
