Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Do you remember your fun-filled days in Kindergarten? It's a magical time to learn about yourself and the world around you. My students need a special place where everyone has a clean, comfortable place to gather, share ideas, grow and learn. We would love a new classroom carpet!
My kindergarten students come to school excited to learn everyday!
Our school is a public school in New York that has a 99% poverty rate where 99% of students receive free lunches. The school is a central part of the community to many of the students and their families.
It provides a clean, safe, caring and exciting environment in which children thrive.
My Project
Much of our learning throughout the day takes place on our carpet. I bought our old carpet nine years ago when I began teaching and it is really showing its age! It is fraying around the edges and has several stains on it. Throughout the years class sizes have gone up as well and it has become very difficult to fit the entire class on the carpet comfortably. This bright, new carpet would provide my students with a beautiful learning environment and a place they love to come to each day!The carpet will help the students expand their learning in a variety of ways while also keeping them comfortable and safe.

This carpet has lowercase and uppercase letters and it also has a picture of something that begins with that letter. It is also big enough to fit every child in my class comfortably. This would be the perfect place to gather as a learning family.
