I teach at Burgaw Elementary School, which is located in the rural city of Burgaw, N.C. in Pender County. We are a Title One school with over 73% of our students receiving free or reduced lunch. I am currently teaching the second grade. I teach all of the second grade English Language Learners (ELL). I am seeking funding for a Literacy Sight Word program that would allow my students to take home words every night to learn them. I truly feel with all my heart that this program will be of great help to all of my students. Not only will this kit meet the diverse needs of my students but it will also allow them to explore words in an atmosphere other than school and enhance their love for reading. We are only allowed $200 for all of our supplies at the beginning of the year and I have not been able to afford this beneficial Sight Word Literacy kit. I want my students to have as many learning tools as possible and I feel this would be perfect. If there is anyone who can help my students by providing funding for this Sight Word Literacy kit, we would truly appreciate it. Thank you and have a great day.
