This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach at a Title I school in a rural, low income area. Our area has been a hot spot for the COVID pandemic. My class this year consists of 17 amazing fifth grade virtual students who are eager and excited to come back safely and learn new things this school year. The education of each student in my classroom is important to me. I know this school year has really affected them mentally because they really miss interacting with their classmates.

My students' education is the number one concern even when they are at home with their parents.

Many of the students say that they would rather be at school with us than to be at home. As educators, we must make sure we are doing the best we can to make sure they are getting a quality education while online.

My Project

The MacBook will provide my students with instant feedback. The MacBook will allow me to create Google Docs, Google Slides, and PDFs for my students to facilitate their learning process. My students need efficient feedback on their virtual learning, and the MacBook will help make this possible.

I will be able to interact with my students throughout this pandemic by providing them with quality instructions via Zoom and recordings of lessons for students to go back and view.

The MacBook will provide an engaging and meaningful curriculum for my students. At the same time, the MacBook will allow me to be able to keep up with all my students' needs. The MacBook will allow me to open several platforms so that I can monitor all my students live during their lessons. The MacBook will be transferred to the classroom to continue to enhance my students' education after the pandemic.
