Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a ninth grade math teacher in an NYC public school. I have so much fun teaching my students math and always try and make math fun for them. I like to think that my desire to teach them math will rub off on them and cause them to love to learn math. I often find that the textbook we use does not have questions that are appropriate for my students. Often, they assume that too much previous knowledge was retained. I work to ensure that all students can always solve at least some of the problems on each given assignment. This gives students a sense of confidence. When I create worksheets, I need to type them up so they are neat and orderly. Also, I want students to be able to read the problems clearly without trouble. I have a laptop, but no printer to print up my worksheets. I often have to run around the school to try and find a printer that I can use and often times I am not able to type documents up because I know I will not be able to print them in time. I want to spend as little time looking for printers as possible and as much time as possible planning excellent lessons. If I had a printer I could spend much more time reaching my students and teaching them valuable math. All of my 90 students would benefit from having a printer in the room. Please help us out!
