Help me give my students dictionaries! We currently have ONE outdated dictionary that we share between 25 students. With 12 grade level appropriate dictionaries in the classroom, it will enable our students to master the standards for vocabulary.

My Students
My students are creative, hardworking 3rd graders who love learning! They are curious and ask lots of questions.
They are leaders who are committed to life long learning!
We are in DISD, but are not a title 1 school and therefore, as a teacher, I have to purchase all our own needs (and wants) for our students. This is a need. Several of my students are ESL and need as many resources as I can provide them with here at school.
My Project
Dictionary skills may seem outdated, but they are still a standard that needs to be learned. Dictionary skills are also imperative for ESL students to succeed. It's a TEKS for our state, and we currently only have ONE outdated dictionary that we share between 25 students. Having a 2 student to 1 dictionary ratio, will enable our curious students' learning of new vocabulary and word choice and provide them with a much needed tool in the classroom.
I chose the Houghton Mifflin American Heritage Dictionary because it is 3rd grade appropriate, it is updated and it is in color.
