My students need materials for test preparation like test prep math rings and problem solving journals.

The third grade is a tough grade! This is the year many students around the country take their first standardized test. It sets the stage for the tests they will take almost every year for the remainder of their school careers.
I teach in our nation's capital where some of the world's brightest children learn.
I am privileged to teach children that come to school everyday, with positive attitudes, ready to learn whatever I may teach them. The neighborhood surrounding my school is one of low economical standing and our school is a Title I school. Most of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. In a time when the pressures of No Child Left Behind plague schools and classrooms across the country, my school is not doing so well. We have yet to make AYP and are performing mediocre in both reading and math. Here's how you can help...
I am requesting math test prep rings and problem solving journals for each student. These journals and rings will be used to provide daily review in the skills I have taught in small group settings. I will also make using the journals and rings fun by turning some of the problems into games. This way, they will be preparing for the high-stakes test and learning at the same time.
Please help us!
By providing these resources for my students, you will also be pushing my school one step closer towards being in compliance with No Child Left Behind. This is a way to help not only one class, but also a whole school. Thank you for your generosity.
