This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach in the third-largest school district of the nation at an International Baccalaureate World School (IB) high school. The school population is 96.4% low-income and 89.9% Hispanic. It's my first year as a Badminton assistant coach to a group of girls whose dedication inspires all of us that are involved. For some of these girls, it's the first time that they are trying out for sports, it's the first time that they've ever held a racket, and the first time they are part of a team. With the donations, we will be able to fund newer and better rackets and birdies for our students to be able to use and take home to practice.
