Please help bring fun and current technology support to our second grade class! Don't leave us behind in this advanced technological world.
My students attend a public elementary school in northern California.
Our school receives no federal, state, or district funding for technology. All technology is provided via donations and grants such as the Chevron Classroom Challenge which greatly benefits STEM education at our school site.
I have 33 second grade students in my classroom. Approximately 50% of my student body comes from a lower socioeconomic area. They have access to our computer lab for up to 50 minutes a week. When the class is able to use technology, they are very motivated to learn and apply what they learned to the real world.
My Project
iPads are such motivational objects for students in this technological world. By having iPads in the classroom, students will be able to use them in a number of ways. They can enhance their math curriculum by allowing students to review work in a fun game setting or extend learning for those who have mastered the content. This will flow into other content areas too such as spelling, social studies and science videos, research, stories, comprehension, and understanding the new technological resource. The printer will allow students to print reports and documents once they have researched and produced them with iPads. These items in the class will motivate them and engage them in their learning.
This will be used by all students for nearly every content area taught.
Students at every academic level and those with special needs can all benefit from having this engaging technology to use and learn from.
