First and foremost, I would like to thank everyone in advance for taking the time to look at my page and willing to make donations for our classroom!
This is my first year teaching and I am super thrilled to be able to build relationships with my students and instill a love for learning!
We are a Title I school, meaning the majority of our students come from low-income homes. My students are very eager to learn and have shown great success throughout the school year. I would like to provide the many amazing resources needed for my students to continue to be successful this year and during the summer!
These mentor text books will be used to teach students standards as well as character education. These mentor texts will be used to introduce and teach life skills such as confidence, courage, kindness and acceptance of others who are different. Students will also have a chance to read these books in their classroom library and will be organized using the storage bins to better meet the needs of all students.
These mentor texts will also allow students to learn many writing and literacy skills such as: letter writing, the writing process, parts of speech, word choice, text structure, etc.
These mentor texts will allow students to be more engaged and will instill the love of learning and reading. As a first year teacher, I am very excited to have the opportunity to share the love of reading with my students through these mentor texts. The supplies needed to organize our classroom library and allow more storage would be greatly beneficial for all students and will allow us to take extra special care to our classroom library and books!
