This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are highly impacted by poverty and trauma. They have much higher needs than the average child. I look to provide food every two hours during the school day, to support their blood sugar levels staying stabilized. Thus maximizing their educational experience during the day, and decreasing behavior problems.

I need your help feeding these children.

Our school provides one snack twice a week. That leaves many other hours in the day with hungry children. I want to help combat unfortunate life circumstance, and one way is with food throughout the day. Additionally, I have learned that these children also benefit from sensory activities throughout the day. By activating their 5 senses throughout the day, I am able to refocus and improve academic engagement.
