Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
According to statistics, my students are already set up to fail. I teach in an economically disadvantaged community and despite their hardships, my students show up to school everyday ready to learn. Kindergarteners are very impressionable at this age. All students have the potential and ability to learn, if given the right tools.
When given the opportunity, kindergartners can take responsibility of their learning.
I want to continue to give them the opportunity to further their education with all the tools and materials that they need.
My Project
My students are beginning to learn how to write and at heir age, self-confidence is important. I believe that with these sight word sentence stations that I am asking for, my students will continue to build their confidence in writing. After they believe in themselves and improve their understanding of what a sentence is, they will then be willing to take more risks in their writing. I have seen my students begin to write but with these resources and I hope to see them continue to grow in literacy. These stations will also help with sight word fluency which will also help them become fluent readers.
