My Students

I teach reading to three groups of bright, energetic fifth graders and writing and grammar to two groups of bright and energetic 6th graders, who love reading, writing, and technology. My students are very eager to learn, but we do not have as many resources in our classrooms as we would like.

The school I teach at is in a low-income community, where many parents have faced unemployment.

My students could benefit from having additional chapter books to read and grammar workbooks to practice skills.

My students need resources that will help them more easily meet learning standards and be able to become better readers and writers while accessing the curriculum more easily and with fewer distractions.

My Project

This project will add to our classroom library by adding both nonfiction and fiction books. These books will be enjoyed by my students.

This project will build my classroom library with nonfiction alphabet books, Native American legends, Newbery Medal books, biographies from The Who Was Series, and nonfiction books from The What Was and Where Was series.

This project will project books to improve my students' reading abilities and love of reading. Also, this project will help my students become better writers by providing a model of good writing. My students will learn more about people and places in history while having fun!
