Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is a welcoming and inclusive community. We are a Responsive Classroom School, believing that a quality education for every student is based on the foundation of a safe and joyful learning community. My school enjoys a reputation for having a strong academic program, a talented faculty and involved parents and guardians.
My class consists of 24 amazing students and come from diverse backgrounds.
I am a part of a larger school that consists of four other first grade classrooms.
My Project
Funding of this project would allow me to acquire and develop a robust collection of professional development books in my school and lay the groundwork for encouraging a a love of reading and writing in our students. I am asking for resource materials, which include research-based reference books for educators and teacher activity guides. These books would expand my knowledge of literacy instruction.
Great teachers never stop learning.
As I learn from these materials and am able to share the books and resources with other teachers I hope to reach ALL the students in our building and collaboratively contribute to their success as learners.
