My Students

My fifth-grade students live in a remote and rural small town in Northern California. In our school, over seventy percent of students are considered socioeconomically disadvantaged and about twenty-five percent are English language learners.

When presented with engaging curriculum, my students are eager to learn.

I hope that in their time with me, they become passionate about a topic and make a true connection to the value of learning. With middle school around the corner, it's important for me to help my students develop their sense of self-worth and purpose during their fifth-grade year.

My Project

This teaching easel would help make lesson delivery more seamless in our classroom. The double-sided magnetic whiteboards, storage area, and hooks for chart paper would help me organize teaching materials to present lessons in a more effective way.

An organized classroom environment is so important in setting the tone for student focus and learning.

I often feel tethered to the whiteboard in the front of the classroom and would like to be more flexible in where I meet with students. I believe this easel will be an important element in designing a classroom that responds to the needs of my students. Thank you for considering donating to our project.
