Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a kindergarten teacher at Sugar Grove Elementary in the Houston Independent School District. The school is located in an at-risk, low-income area. I have a wonderful group of 20 students that includes Katrina evacuee students. Communication is essential to our society. It is very important for the students to start early developing adequate communication skills in the areas of language understanding and language usage. In order to better prepare them to have fluency, articulation, and language success, I would like for my students to be able to video-record themselves in order to view their communication skills throughout the school year. Therefore , I am respectfully requesting funding for the purchase of a digital video camcorder, digital camera, photo paper and compact disks. Thank you very much for considering this proposal.
