This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am a first grade Dual Immersion Teacher. My students learn in a 50/50 model. They learn Spanish 50% of the day, and English 50% of the day. I am looking for more effective resources to help them develop their English and Spanish skills.

During our English and Spanish lessons students learn phonemic awareness skills, and Heggerty can provide detailed lesson plans that focus on these skills.

I am planning to use these resources in our daily practices. The Heggerty materials will provide support for my first graders to improve their phonemic awareness and vocabulary in both languages.
