Improve The Reading Level In My Kindergarten Class
My students need a library to help them become successful and enthusiastic readers with specially selected books for every reading level, an organizational cart to store it on, and super comfy seating cushions.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Developmental kindergarten is such an exciting group of mixed interests, abilities, and goals. My students love to read even if they don’t know the letters’ name and sounds. They make a story by looking the pictures of each page. They stop and try to read CVC words because they are told that they can read and they trust they can.

98% of my classroom students; English is their second language and Spanish is their native language. Most of my students' family are low-income household and all our students receive free lunch. My students and I would love to see in our library grade level books A-E, a comfortable place to sit, and a Leveled Library Mobile Storage Cart. As a teacher, I look forward to building strong literacy skills while they are enjoying reading.
My Project
As my kindergartners bloom and learn their letters' name and sounds, they need a grade level book collection. Books that are leveled from the easy books that an emergent reader might begin to the longer, complex books that advance readers will select.

With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to improve at their own reading level. My goal as a teacher is to see my students succeed grade level literacy skills and observe them realizing that they are reading higher leveled books.
