Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work at a Title I school in the panhandle of Texas. My school has 97% of students receiving free or reduced-price lunch. My students come from all sorts of backgrounds and many are first-generation like myself. Like many, they have struggled to acclimate back into the classroom culture, and this is something we are working on throughout the year.

I hope to get my students excited about careers within the STEM world and be given experiences that will help them achieve success in and out of the classroom.

Our program is still fairly new, and one thing I want to bring to this program is more opportunities to tie in each aspect of STEM while relating it to learning in their general education classroom.

My students will learn about the engineering design process as they are given different challenges to complete. I hope to encourage problem solvers with a growth mindset as we take on all types of designs this school year.

What I really love about my students is despite their struggles in and out of the classroom, they come eager to learn and are grateful for the opportunities given.

My Project

These materials will make a difference in my classroom because it will give me quality lessons for my STEM students.

As a first year STEM teacher, finding the correct lessons to set the tone for students is vital and a Teacher Pay Teacher gift card will help me do just that.

I have discovered experienced STEM teachers who sell their lessons through teacher pay teacher.

These lessons will make a difference because it will help me continue to expose my students to all things STEM and get them exciting about the career paths it has to offer. This gift card would make a huge difference and very appreciated.
