This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Many students in my classroom struggle with reading, comprehending text, and applying different reading strategies. To encourage and increase the success and use of these skills we incorporate whole group novel studies. Students knowledge thrives in this type of setting.

My goal is to show students the magic of reading through these novel studies.

Taking them on different adventures to help them not only improve their reading skills, but find the joy in reading.

My Project

My students love learning about History; however, we don't always have time to dig deeply into the different topics. We have found that a great way to talk about and discuss these topics is through different novels.

Integrating history into our Language Arts time through novels helps us to dig deeper and have thoughtful conversations about the past.

It helps us to enlighten students about the different events of the world that still impact us today. By giving them this learning opportunity they become better citizens who strive to continue to help make changes in our communities.
