This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are a group of fourth grade bilingual students in North Bergen, NJ. We come from countries such as the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Guatemala, El Salvador and Ecuador. We love to learn about the American culture. We especially love hands-on learning. Our class is diverse but truly like a small family. We are all eager to learn and work really hard. We would really appreciate any help to make our transition to America a bit more enjoyable! Thank you in advance!

My Project

My bilingual students are currently studying the stages of metamorphosis. Seeing live metamorphosis with their individual butterflies would be an incredible eye-opening experience.

They will each get a larva to study in stages.

They will take notes and observe the stages of metamorphosis. We will then release the butterflies in a ceremony outside the school. They will see real life evolve before their eyes. It will be magic for sure.

This will be an amazing experience for kids who have not been exposed to much in their own countries. Releasing the butterflies will also show them how precious nature truly is.
