Help me give my students new hands-on STEM activities to integrate critical thinking skills into learning times. We will use the LCD Writing Tablets to design ideas then apply those ideas to the Brackitz & Blocks Rocks Sets.
My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take chances in order to grow both personally and academically.
We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, group work, technology, STEAM activities, and learning opportunities to ensure that each student's needs are met, right where they are!
We are a rural school with small class sizes that allows for more individualized time with each student. In order to make the most of the time we have with these students, we are always looking for new, fun ways to learn and apply knowledge. They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have each of them in my class.
My Project
The items in this project will be put to great use in our classroom to develop our critical thinking skills. The LCD Writing Tablets will allow my students to design their ideas paperless and without needing dry-erase markers. They can easily edit their ideas and share with their classmates.
We will use our engineering ideas and bring them to life with the Brackitz.
The Brackitz sets will be used during for multiple times in our week. For activity centers, small group and independent learning, Brackitz helps students grow their essential design thinking, collaboration and hands-on learning skills. We can also use them during our STEAM time. Designing and creating simple machines and structures introduces children to real-world STEM and STEAM possibilities.
The Blocks Rock set is a competitive and educational game where two players, or two teams of players, compete to build a color-and-shape-specific structure in the shortest amount of time. The block building activity promotes teamwork and quick thinking, as well as spatial thinking and mental rotation.
These items will be put to use in our daily learning as well as available during inside recess time. Students would be able to learn while they play and not even realize it!
