My students need Building Bricks, Bristle Builders, Zoob sets, and other building materials to start our Makerspace and stretch our imaginations and creativity!
The students in my class are diverse in ethnicity and income levels. They are also a mixed bag of learning abilities, from gifted to resource, so they are like most California schools!
They come every day with a quest for learning, excitement, a smile on their face, and the joy of friendship in our room.
We try to find unique experiences to make our days filled with learning through hands-on activities. We strive to work and learn together, so a "Makerspace" would be ideal for us!
My Project
21st century learners need to stretch their imaginations and creativity to the MAX! Stepping outside the textbooks to learn is a goal in our room! A Makerspace is a place "where students can gather to create, invent, tinker, explore and discover." In our classroom we will have an area set aside for students to go explore through collaboration, design (using our Chromebooks), and then create what wonders their minds can see, be it a structure, a STEMs project, or Lego coding, while applying math, science, art, engineering techniques.
The Building Bricks, Bristle Builders, Zoob sets, and other building sets we have requested are flexible enough to let the students be successful in their creations.
They will allow for modifications and changes as they discuss, recreate, and invent. But most of all they will have fun while learning and working together, developing key attributes for their futures!
